About Waldorf Woodlands?

The Waldorf Woodlands Schools came from the hearts of our founding parents and teachers in May of 2017 to provide an authentic Waldorf education for their children.

We now boast a faculty with 115 combined years of Waldorf teaching experience and serve students aged 18 months to 6 years in our Kindergarten, and Primary 7 years to 14 years from 1st to 7th Grade in our Primary. Since 2017, we have been engaged in the most progressive curriculum of our time, Waldorf Education.

Celebrating 100 years with over 1,000 schools in over 60 countries, Waldorf cultivates the holistic growth of the child by delivering a very specific developmentally appropriate curriculum that synchronises the growth of Head, Heart and Hand.

Waldorf Woodlands

Inspired by a vision of providing an authentic Waldorf education for their children, our parents and teachers poured their blood, sweat and resources into creating our beautiful Campus. They transformed it into a magical, inspiring haven for the brilliant creative minds that we are blessed to call our students. Our Campus has facilities for children from 18 months to 6 years in the Kindergarten Playgroup and Kinder classes, and 7 to 14 years from Class 1 to Class 7.

Our school ethos truly epitomises community and the culture of supporting the school is a unique hallmark of our truly diverse and generous faculty and parent body. Throughout our journey we have continued to be blessed by remarkably passionate parents, faculty and partners whose support has enabled us to establish the Waldorf Woodlands School.

As we look to the future we continue to be committed to our vision of making the gift of Waldorf Education available to every child in Kenya and beyond.

Our mission

Motivation

We strive to help all children develop their unique physical, emotional, intellectual and spiritual capacities. This enables each individual to responsibly enter in freedom into an ever-changing local and global community.

Strive

Waldorf education is not a pedagogical system but an art – the art of awakening what is actually there within the human being.

Development

Our highest endeavour must be to develop individuals who are able out of their own initiative to impart purpose & direction to their lives.

“Our highest endeavor must be to develop free human beings who are able of themselves to impart purpose and direction to their lives. The need for imagination, a sense of truth, and a feeling of responsibility—these three forces are the very nerve of education.”
Waldorf Steiner
